I've been wondering for some time what it would be like to shoot the dog yard scenes with a C-PL filter (circular polarized filter) attached to the telephoto zoom lens on my Pentax K-m. So here I am with a top-of-the-line Kenko C-PL filter, shooting merrily away. After all this is the very best C-PL filter that money can buy and I ought to be able to get some awesome shots with it.
Wrong! The results fell far short of what I had hoped for. All the images came out too dark and the black part of Jaime's coat looks flattened without any texture. What's even worse is that the pictures look all out of focus.
Oh, well, at least I've tried and I've learned my lesson. The C-PL filter does not enhance anything where canine photography is concerned.
